A new era in road traffic management with the PEREX project!
In the Walloon region of Belgium, Eiffage Energie Services Systèmes - Infra called on the expertise of the Aximum teams to contribute to the PEREX project.
The aim of this project is to set up a real-time management centre for the region’s transport infrastructure.
Aximum’s role as expert will consist of supplying 602 Wallonia-specific traffic light controllers M@estro from Aximum and the implementation of the road traffic supervision tool Symart from Technologies Nouvelles. This supervisor will operate with a dual French and German communication protocol - a first in the field!
The design of this supervisor meets the requirements of coordination with tram and BHNS management systems (bus priority); it can also communicate with roadside units (UBR) set up by partner company NeoGLS.
The aim? Improving and optimising road traffic management in Wallonia
The programme is as follows:
- ITS (Intelligent Transport System) project management over the 5-year programme
- Installation of the road traffic management system Symart - dual communication protocol
- Supply of 602 traffic light controllers M@estro from Aximum
- Coordination of existing hypervisors: road traffic and bus priority
Led by the ITS teams, this project was successfully completed thanks to the cohesion of the Aximum and NeoGLS teams.
A gamble won thanks to the synergy between the Group’s activities!
